Everyone raves about TINSEL TOWN. TV Guide Online
writes "The film tackles the deeper issues of man's hidden
desires." Soap Opera Update calls TINSEL
TOWN a "stylish crime thriller" and Soap
Opera Digest tags it a "legal thriller."
Soap Opera Weekly advises that "Tinsel
Town will treat audiences to new views of [actresses]
Ilene Kristen and Eileen Fulton."
Somewhere in the industrial Northeast lies a decaying community
where crafty crooks and ruthless cops fight for supremacy.
It's not in any guidebook. It's not on any map. And it's not
in California. But it is TINSEL TOWN. From the mind
of writer/director Kenneth Del Vecchio, TINSEL TOWN
re-invents everything you thought you knew about the crime
thriller genre. The film features a cast of veteran character
actors and young, charismatic future stars. Their ranks include:
Paul Taylor ("As the World Turns"
2002 Emmy Nominee)
John Palumbo ("Oz")
Eileen Fulton ("As the World Turns"
- 2004 Daytime Emmy Lifetime Achievement Award)
Ed Fry ("As the World Turns")
Ilene Kristen ("One Life to Live"
- 2004 Emmy Nominee)
Marshall Hilliard ("Guiding Light")
Chuck Zito ("Oz")
Ra Hanna ("Oz")
Conor Dubin (CBS Close to Home)
Johnny Williams ("GoodFellas," "Honeymoon
in Vegas")
Mylika Davis ("Far From Heaven")
Gene Terinoni (HBO's "The Wire" )
THE STORY OF TINSEL TOWN:
Cracker Jack (Paul Taylor) loves money. He's spent his whole
life stealing it. Now this suave criminal mastermind is about
to make money - from scratch - with help from his car thief
buddy, Beat Town Billy (John Palumbo), and their strange crew
of underworld foot soldiers. Jack poses as a corporate attorney
and dupes his new "boss" (Eileen Fulton) and her
top security operative (Johnny Williams); from them, Cracker
Jack and his crew heist the paper that stands behind the sacred
dollar bill.
Jack's counterfeiting scheme will make him rich, as long
as the cops don't find out. But keeping a secret this huge
will not be easy. Jack's lifelong nemesis, Tinsel Town's corrupt
chief of police (Gene Terinoni), is watching his every move.
So is FBI agent, Hal McNamara (Ed Fry). And Jack's girlfriend,
Lilian Bestaway (Sharon Avendano), just happens to be a cop.
She also happens to be something he could never fathom. Her
secret, though, is revealed in a bizarre, twisted, fire-blasting
ending-right along with the secrets of all the other corrupt
Tinsel Town characters. The final mystery: who gets the money?
